Our Story

Welcome to the 13th Annual Woodystock Blues and Brews Festival & Extreme Machines Car, Boat and RV Show 2025! I’m John Woodard Jr., but feel free to call me Woody....

What started as a casual get together in the desert with good friends to have a few brewski's and a few bands out for a jam session out in the desert which has somehow catapulted into this somewhat ever growing and task laden local legendary festival, and I’m still scratching my head over how it all came together.

But really, if you can’t chuckle at life’s unpredictable moments, what’s point? So, grab a drink and get ready for an unforgettable time—it's going to be a wild ride!

As I said earlier my name is John Woodard Jr., but you can call me Woody. As a proud veteran and dedicated family man, I've spent my life working hard to provide for my loved ones.

Each experience has shaped who I am today, and I cherish the moments I've shared with my family along the way. My journey is one of resilience, love, and commitment. My commitment to my family, my community, my love for the arts and music was the driving force that fueled the energy I couldn't have ever mustered without those things pushing me to do it year after year. Admittedly, it has grown quite a bit since the beginning, and I never dreamed it would grow into such a great thing. But I felt that I still needed to give my all to my country and so I focused on battling hunger right here in America. It has become my heart's greatest fight and I am armed with music, amazing friends who are just as dedicated and have a love for all who have the blues and just need a hand up.

I can't believe that 13 years ago, a simple party with a few friends, a few bands, beer, booze, and some shenanigans in the desert would lead to this incredible journey. What started as a spontaneous gathering in the desert has transformed into something much more than I could have ever imagined. It’s amazing how moments like those can shape our lives in unexpected ways. Looking back, I’m grateful for every twist and turn that brought us here and led me to some of the greatest friends and platoon of music loving warriors I have had the privilege to share this with.

There's no possible way I could have done it alone; a few friends joined me with the love for music, love for community and the desire to make a difference. Together, we worked hard, and it truly blossomed into something remarkable. It’s been incredible to see how our efforts have grown, allowing us to give back to our communities in meaningful ways. I’m thankful for the support and the impact we’ve made together.
